The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the US 68/KY 80 Lake Barkley Bridge today.

The daytime lane restriction starting at 9:30am is to allow maintenance work on the existing bridge.  Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers in this work zone.

The restriction is expected to remain in place until about 4:00pm today.

The US 68/KY 80 Cumberland River/Lake Barkley Bridge, also known as the Lawrence Memorial Bridge and the Canton Bridge, carries approx. 3,800 vehicles across Lake Barkely daily.

PCL Civil Construction of Denver is the contractor on the new $128.3 million Lake Barkley immediately downstream from the existing structure.  The new bridge is expected open by October 2017.
