KYTC District 2 Chief Engineer Retires

The chief district engineer for Kentucky Transportation District 2 is retiring at the end of this month. Kevin McClearn is a 23-year veteran of the cabinet and was promoted to CDE in 2009. 

According to a news release, during his tenure McClearn led his district through the 2009 ice storm, the development of I-69, work on the Blue Bridge in Owensboro and extensions on I-24 and US-60.

KYTC District 2 is the commonwealth’s largest district stretching 3,300 miles across  Christian, Muhlenberg, Ohio, Hancock, Daviess, McLean, Hopkins, Caldwell, Webster, Henderson and Union counties.

District 2 employs approximately 350 people.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
