Ky Governor Candidates Agree to Debate Schedules

Kentucky Gubernatorial candidate Jack Conway has agreed to participate in a series of debates with GOP candidate Matt Bevin.  

The Conway campaign accepted invitations to six joint appearances throughout the state before the Nov 3 election.

“I look forward to a serious discussion with my opponent about the issues that matter most to Kentucky families,” said Conway.  

The schedule includes:

  • June 19 - County Judge-Executives/Magistrates Conference - The Galt House, Louisville
  • July 23 - Kentucky Farm Bureau "Measure the Candidates" - Louisville 
  • August 1 - Fancy Farm Picnic/Political Speaking - Fancy Farm, Graves County 

The candidates will also appear on debates broadcast on statewide radio and TV:

  • October 6 - WAVE-TV - Centre College 
  • October 25 - KY League of Women Voters - Eastern Kentucky University
  • October 26 - Kentucky Tonight - Candidates for Governor - KET

KY Lieutenant Governor candidates, democrat Rep. Sannie Overly and republican Jenean Hampton, will also appear together on Kentucky Tonight's program October 19th. 
A spokesman for Bevin said the campaign has already accepted numerous debate invitations and will continue to accept them.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
