Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Appoints Mark Welch West KY Field Rep.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has appointed five new field representatives including western Kentucky native (and former WKMS Program Director) Mark Welch of Murray.

 

Welch, along with  Adam Rumohr, of Louisville; Scott Williamson, of Corbin; Shelby Peel, of Georgetown; and Gary Reece, of London, will serve as liaisons to the Commissioner of Rural and Municipal Aid, the Transportation Cabinet, and various agencies and local communities.

 

Welch, is the former director of community relations in the Office of the President at Murray State University and will represent 30 counties in western Kentucky with issues concerning roads, community projects, and other situations requiring government assistance.

 

Field representatives also coordinate with local and state officials to respond to inquiries from constituents across the Commonwealth.

Nicole Erwin is a Murray native and started working at WKMS during her time at Murray State University as a Psychology undergraduate student. Nicole left her job as a PTL dispatcher to join the newsroom after she was hired by former News Director Bryan Bartlett. Since, Nicole has completed a Masters in Sustainable Development from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia where she lived for 2 1/2 years.
