Kentucky National Guard Soldiers Deployed To Mexico Border

KENTUCKY NATIONAL GUARD

The Kentucky National Guard is deploying five soldiers to the U.S. Mexico border.

A release from the Kentucky National Guard Monday reports that the service members will provide support for aviation management operations to allow Customs and Border Patrol to place more law enforcement officers in the field.

Kentucky National Guard officials say the soldiers are being actively transferred to New Mexico in support of the Department of Homeland Security border security mission.

The troops will not perform law enforcement activities or interact with migrants or other individuals detained by DHS.
