Kentucky Author Reflects on Helping War-Affected Children in Africa

Bethany Haley Williams / bethanyhaleywilliams.com

Kentucky-born author and psychologist Bethany Haley spoke with Kate Lochte about her new book, “The Color of Grace.”

The memoir describes Haley’s work with children facing war zones in Africa. She’s helped provide care to former child soldiers and even kids used as sex slaves.

Her non-profit, Exile International, offers therapy and healing for war-affected children.

Haley and her husband usually operate out of Nashville, but spend several months in Congo working on the front lines with local leaders.
