Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear has filed suit against a student loan company for failing to submit key documents during an investigation.
Florida-based Liberty Tax and Student Loan Defense did not fully respond to a subpoena issued by Beshear’s Office of Consumer Protection.
The Attorney General is investigating Liberty for potentially misleading college loan forgiveness claims aimed at Kentucky students.
His suit seeks an injunction to bar the company from operating in the commonwealth.
A Murray State representative says the university is not in business with Liberty.
