Murray, KY – Funds that might have come to Calloway County have been axed from the Kentucky House budget bill. A proposal from some Senate Republicans would leave many Calloway County roads projects safe, but cut funding for water infrastructure improvements and $2.3 million in renovation funds for Murray High School. It would also halt proposed Kentucky Highway 121 expansion from U-S 641 to Old Coldwater Road. Fifth district representative Melvin Henley tells the Murray Ledger and Times he hopes the House-Senate conference committee will include the original funding provisions in their final budget proposal to Governor Steve Beshear.
