KCTCS Names Interim Chancellor; Hopes to Have Permanent Replacement by April

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System named George Edwards as its interim chancellor, as it looks to put a permanent chancellor in place no later than April.

Edwards retired from Big Sandy Community and Technical College this month and begins his duties as interim chancellor Jan. 26. Previous chancellor Jay Box was named president-elect Nov. 19 after serving as chancellor for five years.

Edwards has worked as a teacher and administrator in higher education for 35 years in Kentucky and Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Berea College, a master’s degree in economics from Murray State and a doctor of education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
