The J.C. Penney in Union City, Tennessee is closing next month as part of the company’s effort to “advance sustainable growth and long-term profitability”.
J.C. Penney is closing 138 stores across the country. According to a recent release the company expects approximately 5,000 positions nationwide will be impacted by the closures. J.C. Penney will provide outplacement support services for eligible employees. Most affected stores will begin liquidation on April 17.
