Imes Running For 5th District House Seat

Murray, KY – Murray resident and business owner Kenny Imes is the first republican to file to run for the Kentucky's 5thDistrict House seat. Imes once held the seat before. He own Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Democrat Hal Kemp has announced his intention to run for the seat, but has not yet officially filed with the Secretary of State's Office. Current 5th district representative Melvin Henley will retire at the end of this term, which is his second. Henley first ran as a Republican and changed parties during his first term. He was then re-elected as a Democrat.
