Chicago, IL – Illinoisans are at the polls today to determine who will represent their respective parties in races for U.S. Senate and Governor. Six Republicans are seeking the nomination for governor. All promise to slash spending and clean up Illinois government after last year's impeachment of Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Current Governor Democrat Pat Quinn is in a tough fight with State Comptroller Dan Hynes. Republican Rep. Mark Kirk has dominated his party's race for President Obama's former Senate seat. State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias leads polls on the Democratic side, but has several challengers.
