ILL Unemployment Applications Now Multi-lingual
By John Walker and The Associated Press
Illinois unemployment benefit applications are now available online in Spanish and Polish.
Department of Employment Security officials say online applications are preferable to paper because of accuracy and efficiency. The new translations come after other changes made to help people whose primary language is not English. The agency converted key documents on its website last year to the four non-English languages most requested, which are Spanish, Polish, simplified Chinese and Russian. Other translations are available on request. Overall, the agency has had requests for more than 60 languages.
