IL GOP Split On Special Session

House Republican Leader Tom Cross says the sooner lawmakers return to Springfield to get the job done, the better. But Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno says she's not sure what dynamics have changed since lawmakers adjourned last week without a solution. Radogno says there's a "rift amongst Democratic leaders." Quinn set a June 19 special session Thursday, the same day Moody's Investors Service lowered Illinois' credit rating. Earlier in the week Quinn called together Democratic legislative leaders, but House Speaker Michael Madigan didn't show. The House and Senate remained divided on an approach to fixing the $97 billion problem. Quinn's spokeswoman says there's no compromise yet.
