Paducah, KY – The Hurt Locker from director Kathryn Bigelow is the story of an elite Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit in Iraq. It looks at what these soldiers deal with now on a daily basis, negotiating Iraqi and military culture while trying to stay one step ahead of insurgents and their improvised explosive devices. A Time magazine reviewer called The Hurt Locker "a near-perfect" film, and the Academy concurred, awarding it Best Picture this year.
