Madisonville, KY – Hopkins County fire departments may be more organized when responding to an emergency. The county's Fire Chief's Association recently purchased materials to develop a countywide accountability system, which includes interoperable equipment and a uniform system. The Madisonville Messenger reports fire officials have bought and distributed about 500 tags to the county's 15 fire departments. Green tags are for new firefighters, black for ones with training, and chiefs and captains will carry white tags. Officials hope the new tag system will improve command and control at incident scenes by improving overall accountability.
