Hillary Clinton Declares Victory in Kentucky Primary

Matt Markgraf, WKMS

Hillary Clinton is declaring victory in Kentucky's presidential primary. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, unofficial results on the Kentucky State Board of Elections website report Clinton leading with nearly 2,000 more votes than Sanders.

Clinton says in a statement posted on Twitter that she thanks "everyone who turned out." She says, "We're always stronger united."

According to tweets from reporters following the Bernie Sanders campaign in California, the candidate thanked Kentuckians while criticizing the closed primary.

Clinton and Sanders will nearly evenly split the state’s delegates.
