Gov: School food programs getting equipment money

By AP

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has announced that 46 state schools will be getting a share of nearly $1.8 million in federal stimulus money to buy new food service program equipment. Grant money is to be used to buy equipment that improves food quality and safety and increases energy efficiency. The Beshear administration says the money may be used to buy things ranging from coolers to ovens or dishwashers. The grants range from about 21 hundred dollars in Henry County to $192,000 in McCracken County.
