Fort Campbell Gets New General

Fort Campbell will welcome a new general to the post this morning.  Brigadier General Mark Stammer will serve as the base’s acting senior commander while the 101st Airborne Division’s headquarters unit is deployed to Afghanistan.

About 5,000 troops from Fort Campbell are currently in that country. Stammer comes to the post from Fort Bliss, Texas, where he recently served as the Joint Task Force North Commander.
