Electioneering Restrictions

By Tony McVeigh

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson is looking forward to a smooth Election Day. He reminds voters electioneering is not allowed within 300 feet of a polling place. He says wearing your favorite candidate's T-shirt into a polling place is highly discouraged.

"You can wear your T-shirt into a polling place. We would like you to not do that. But you can legally do that and be allowed to vote. You're not going to be turned away from voting. However, you might be prosecuted for violating the electioneering law."

Polls open at 6:00 a.m. local time and close at 6:00 p.m. Voters still in line at 6:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
