The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge is down to one lane today as road crews work to pour concrete for the new Kentucky Lake Bridge.
The closure begins at 10 A.M. and is expected to last about 10 hours.

If all goes as planned, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says this could be the last concrete pour requiring a lane restriction on the existing bridge. Concrete trucks are required to park on one lane of the old bridge to deliver concrete to the work site for the new structure.
The contractor, Johnson Brothers Construction, is attempting to get this pour in before heavy rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
Delays to traffic in the bridge area work zone have been fairly minor, generally lasting less than 5 minutes. Once the concrete pour is complete, the contractor will set a tentative date for placement of the main span for the new bridge.
Johnson Bros. Construction is the prime contractor in the $133M New Eggners Ferry Bridge project.
