A Murray State University assistant music professor will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City this month. The performance is part of Yonsei University Alumni Association’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Dr. Meeyoun Park is a critically acclaimed piano soloist and collaborator throughout the United States and abroad. She has performed at the Lincoln Center in New York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Park said Carnegie Hall is a dream place for musicians to perform.

“It’s going to be great,” said Park, “but it’s still playing with all those talented musicians in Carnegie Hall that is probably my dream come true.”

As a duet, Park will play Manuel de Falla’s First Spanish Dance from “La Vida Breve.” She will also perform Korean songs and an excerpt from Giuseppe Verdi’s opera, La Traviata, with invited singers.

Park began her piano studies at the age of five in Seoul, South Korea. In 1994, she graduated from Yonsei University’s College of Music with a degree in Piano Performance. At Indiana University, Park earned her Master of Music, Performer Diploma and Doctor of Music degrees in piano performance.

Park will join her fellow alumni to perform at Carnegie Hall on Tuesday, March 20th.
