The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is closed for maintenance until further notice.
The boat transports motorists from Hickman, Ky. to Dorena, Mo. via the Mississippi River. Captain Ed Floyd says the ferry will undergo repairs at a dry dock and there’s no timetable for when it might re-open.
The ferry is the only direct route between Kentucky and Missouri.
