Devaney Elected TN GOP Chairman
Tennessee Republicans have elected Chris Devaney to a third term as chairman of the party’s executive committee. He was re-elected without opposition at their Saturday meeting. Devaney was first tapped for the position to complete the unexpired term of his predecessor Robin Smith, who left to make an unsuccessful bid for Congress in 2009.
Devaney was U.S. Sen. Bob Corker’s state director before serving as GOP chair. He has also worked as the party’s executive director and a staffer for former Sens. Fred Thompson of Tennessee and Phil Gramm of Texas.
