Louisville, KY – Trainers and jockeys are making their final preparations for tomorrow's 135th running of the Kentucky Derby. The morning line favorite is I Want Revenge at 3 to 1. Churchill Downs oddsmaker Mike Battaglia says he had expected to make the colt a co-favorite with Quality Road, but that all changed Monday when Quality Road was pulled from the race because of a foot injury.
Then I thought I Want Revenge was definitely going to be the favorite. Dunkirk I thought was going to be a strong second choice, but Pioneer of the Nile made such a good impression coming here handling the dirt, I thought they would go co-second choices. And we know what Friesian Fire's done coming off the layoff and everything, solid at 5-2."
Co-second favorites Dunkirk and Pioneer of the Nile have odds of 4 to 1. Post time for the 135th Kentucky Derby is 6:04 pm tomorrow.
