Datebook: September 30 - The Big Read, Salad Spectacular, Teaching Art Together

The Big Read celebration kicks off with a party Thursday night from 6 to 7:30 at the historic Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville. The Friends of the Rhea Public Library in Paris host a Salad Spectacular Lunch Friday from 11 to 1:30 at Grace Episcopal Church. Take out is available. The menu includes salads, French bread, crackers, cookies, and beverages. Get tickets at the library, Maggie's, Perkins Pharmacy, Security Bank, or Commercial Bank.

Tomorrow’s the deadline for teachers to apply for the Kentucky Arts Council’s Teaching Art Together grant. The grant allows teachers to design and implement one- to four-week artist residencies. Grant guidelines and the application are available at artscouncil.ky.gov.
