Datebook: September 12 - JFK Marries Jackie 60 Years Ago

They were formally introduced at a dinner party in 1952, when Kennedy was then busy running for the US Senate. Today was their wedding day in St. Mary's Church in Newport, Rhode Island. It was the social event of the season, with 700 guests and a reception with 1,200 guests. They honeymooned in Acapulco.

The Imani Milele choir sings at Memorial Baptist Church this Sunday at 6 p.m. The choir is made up of orphaned and vulnerable children who are beneficiaries of the good work of the Imani Milele Children child-care program. Memorial Baptist is located at the corner of 10th and Main streets in Murray.

The Paducah Railroad Museum hosts Story Time this Saturday, featuring “Tottle” and including crafts and other activities. Presentations are at 11, 1 and 3. Admission is $5 for adults or $2 for kids 12 and under. The museum’s at 200 Washington Street in Paducah, across from the Carson Center. For details, visit paducahrr.org

The Humane Society of Calloway County is accepting photos of pets to be included in the full-color 2014 Pet Calendar. All photos submitted are included, with twelve chosen for special "Pet of the Month" placement. The entry deadline is Monday.
