Datebook: October 19 - Bayard Rustin, Carlisle Brothers, Blood Drive

John D’Emilio, Professor Emeritus of History and of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Illinois-Chicago, speaks on “Lost Prophet: The Life and Times of Bayard Rustin” tomorrow afternoon at 4. The lecture takes place at Wrather Museum Auditorium on the campus of Murray State University. The event is free and open to the public. 

The Hopkins County – Madisonville Public Library hosts a Kentucky Chautauqua performance of the country music duo the Carlisle Brothers tomorrow evening. The free performance celebrates the new home of the library at 425 E. Center Street. Refreshments are served at 5:30, and the program begins at 6.

The American Red Cross holds a blood drive this Thursday afternoon from 12:30 to 5:30 at First Presbyterian Church in Murray. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in general good health. For more information, visit redcrossblood.org.
