Datebook: November 13 - Christmas 1850, Bread & Words, Angels Attic Donations

The Homeplace at Land Between the Lakes hosts Christmas in 1850 this Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4 at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The afternoon’s events include visiting Santa Claus, making traditional Christmas decorations, tasting homemade Christmas treats, singing carols, and more. Photos with Santa are welcome. 

The Austin Peay State University Department of Languages and Literature hosts the 21st Annual Bread and Words reading tonight at 6 in the APSU Morgan University Center Ballroom. The evening begins with a meal of soup and bread, followed by a reading of poetry and fiction by students and faculty from the creative writing program. Donations benefit the APSU campus food bank.

Angel's Attic Thrift Shop seeks donations of clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and toys. Community donations help Angels Attic Thrift Store fund the Angels Community Clinic, the Gentry House for homeless families, and other local agencies. Bring donations to 972 Chestnut Street Monday through Saturday from 8 to 5.
