Datebook: May 22 - Starfish Color Run, Hygiene Item Donations, Chores 1850s Style

The Starfish Color Run 5K is tomorrow morning at 8 at Paducah's Noble Park. The event includes individual and team races, and prizes go to teams with the most creative name and costume. Race-day registration starts at 7 a.m. For more information, visit starfishorphanministry.com

The Murray-Calloway County Need Line seeks donations of personal hygiene items, such as shampoo, deodorant, disposable razors, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Need Line is located at 509 North 8th Street in Murray. There’s more information at needline.org.

Tomorrow from 10 to 4, the Homeplace at Land Between the Lakes offers visitors the chance to lend a hand with everyday 1850s chores like laundry, planting vegetables, making clothes from hand grown cotton, and more. Also, spring tonics are prepared to protect the family from summer maladies, and iron kettles are hung over outside fires for spring cleaning.
