Datebook: July 2 - Autism Awareness Walk, Golf Tournament, Red Wolf Treat Time

The autism support group Families on the Spectrum hosts the 4th Annual Autism Awareness Walk this Saturday morning at 9 on the Kentucky Dam walking trail. The free event includes watermelon and a piñata bust. Kids are invited to bring wagons, scooters, and bikes. Proceeds from T-shirt sales and donations support Families on the Spectrum. 

The Mickey Fisher Memorial Golf Tournament is next Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, at Cole Park in Fort Campbell. The event raises scholarship money for the dependents of wounded or fallen Fort Campbell soldiers. Four-person teams compete with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. both days. The Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes hosts Red Wolf Treat Time tomorrow afternoon at 1. Visit with red wolves, learn what scientists are doing to bring them back from the brink of extinction, and watch them devour a tasty treat. Details at landbetweenthelakes.us.
