Datebook: January 6 - Poetry Reading, Preschool Theatre, Blood Drive

The Murray State University MFA Program presents a reading by poet Mark Jarman this Saturday night at 7:30 in the Clara Eagle Gallery, located on the sixth floor of the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building. Jarman taught at Murray from 1980 to 1983 and is presently Centennial Professor of English at Vanderbilt University. His honors include a Guggenheim fellowship in poetry as well as numerous awards. A book signing and reception follows the reading. 

Market House Theatre in Paducah hosts a preschool workshop titled “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” this Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3:30. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.

The American Red Cross holds a blood drive this Friday from 9:30 to 1:30 at Massac Memorial Hospital. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs., and be in general good health. To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
