Datebook: February 8 - This is 50, Mardi Gras Jazz, Foster Care Volunteers

Today’s the deadline for artists to submit work for inclusion in the Kentucky Arts Council’s “This is 50” visual art exhibit. The exhibit celebrates the arts council’s 50th anniversary and is displayed during Kentucky Crafted: The Market. Each artist can submit up to two entries. The 14th Annual Mardi Gras & All That Jazz event benefiting the Lourdes Foundation is tomorrow night from 6 to 9 at the Julian Carroll Convention Center in downtown Paducah. The event includes food and drink from the region's restaurants and vendors, live entertainment by Lew Jetton & 61 South, and a live auction of artwork by Bill Ford.

The Citizen Foster Care Review Boards seek volunteers to review cases of children placed in foster care. All volunteers must complete a six-hour initial training session, and all volunteers must consent to a criminal record and Central Registry check. Details available online.
