Datebook: August 3 - Honeybees & Beekeeping, Five Park Footraces, Rivers Homecoming

As part of the McCracken County Master Gardeners’ Toolbox Series, beekeeper Jim Gould presents a program on the importance of honeybees as a pollinator of food crops. He also speaks on how to become a beekeeper. The presentation is tomorrow night at 5 at the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Office. Admission is free and open to all. 

The Western Kentucky State Park Race Series starts this Saturday with the Hot August 5K at Kenlake State Resort Park near Aurora. The series includes five park footraces in western Kentucky. The overall championship is based on a point system. For more information or to register, visit parks.ky.gov.

The annual Trigg County Between the Rivers Homecoming is this Sunday at the Fenton pavilion. All former residents, relatives, and friends are invited. Those attending should bring food, beverages, lawn chairs, and any other picnic or recreation items. For more information, call 270-522-3956.
