Datebook: August 26 - Hot August Blues, Hot Air Balloons, Japanese Cinema

The Hot August Blues Festival opens tomorrow night at 6 at the Kenlake State Resort Park with music by Two Years Wasted and River Towne Alley Cats. The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden hosts Balloons over the Garden this Friday and Saturday. The event includes full balloon rides, tethered rides, children’s activities, a food court, inflatables, music, and more. Reservations are required for some activities. See wkbg.org for more information.

The Japanese film “Like Father, Like Son” is this week’s Cinema International feature. The film explores how deep the bonds of family go, and how they expand themselves. Shows are tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 in Murray State’s Curris Center Theatre.
