Datebook: August 10 - National Night Out, While the Paint Dries, Tradition of Variations

The Murray community is invited to National Night Out tomorrow evening from 7 to 9 at Chestnut Park in Murray. The celebration of community spirit and public safety features representatives from the Murray Police Department, Murray Fire Department, Calloway County Fire-Rescue, Kentucky State Police, American Red Cross, Murray Electric, and others. The block party atmosphere includes prizes, games, and refreshments.

As part of its Brown Bag Lunch Series, the Hopkinsville Art Guild hosts "While the Paint Dries . . . and other books by and about artists" Wednesday at noon at the Guild Art Gallery. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, visit hopkinsvilleartguild.org

An exhibit titled “A Tradition of Variations” remains on display at the National Quilt Museum this week. The exhibit includes antique quilts with unusual and creative use of color, border styles, and patterning. Details at quiltmuseum.org.
