Datebook: April 8 - Music @ MAC, Historical Society, Mutt Strut

Maiden Alley Cinema hosts Music at MAC this week. Oklahoma native JD McPherson plays a mix of traditional American Rock n Roll and R & B tomorrow night. Then on Friday, the Hooten Hallers bring blues, soul and rock n roll from Columbia, Missouri. Tickets are available at maidenalleycinema.org

The Jackson Purchase Historical Society meets this Saturday morning at 10:30 in Wilson Hall Room 115 on the campus of Murray State University. The featured guest is Dr. Melony Shemberger, who speaks on newspaper editorials from the time of the Civil War. The meeting is open to the public and free of charge.

The second annual Mutt Strut hosted by the Humane Society of Calloway County is this Saturday at the corner of 15th and Olive streets in Murray. The event includes a 5K run and a 1 mile dog walk. Registration forms are available at the Humane Society office or at forthepets.org.
