The Garden Department of the Murray Woman's Club sponsors a Floral Show, Iris Color Show, plant sale, and luncheon on Thursday. Registration starts at 9, judging starts at 10, voting and viewing starts at 11, and a luncheon starts at 11:30. $10 tickets for the luncheon are available at (270) 227-2355. Proceeds sponsor MSU horticulture student scholarships.
All Christian County residents, businesses, and organizations are invited to a free shred day on Friday fom 10 to 1 at the Commerce Center on Fort Campbell Blvd. Bring up to 100 pounds of paper.
Mayor Gayle Kaler reads "Clifford the Firehouse Dog" to kids at the next Mayor's Book Club event on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 at Fire Station #1 in downtown Paducah. Kids can tour the fire station, sit in a pumper truck, talk to fire fighters, and learn about fire safety. The event is free.
