Datebook: April 28 - Relay For Life Fish Fry, Animal Rescue Program, New Quilts from an Old Favorite

The Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass holds its annual Relay for Life Fish Fry this Friday night at the Kentucky Opry. Plates are available starting at 5:30, with all proceeds going to Relay for Life. Music starts at 7:30, featuring Jargon, Donnie and Vickie Clark, and Old Santa Fe. More information at jpfob.com

Murray State University's Equine Center sponsors two large animal rescue programs on the MSU campus in May. Technical Ropes Training is May 11 and 12 and Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue is May 13 through 15. Full participant and auditor options are available. Space is limited. An exhibit titled “New Quilts from an Old Favorite” remains on display through May 19th at the National Quilt Museum. The exhibit features winning entries in a contest to use traditional nine-patch techniques with a modern feel. There’s also a collection of Antique Nine Patch quilts. More at quiltmuseum.org.
