The McCracken County Public Library hosts traditional Irish music this Thursday afternoon from 4 to 6 featuring the father-son duo Eddie and Josh Coffey. The Coffeys are band members of Bawn in the Mash, The Wheelhouse Rousters, the Solid Rock-it Boosters, and other local ensembles. The program is free and open to the public.
The Murray State University Alliance holds its annual FAME drag show Thursday night at 7 in the Curris Center Ballroom. The event serves as a fundraiser for future programming efforts, which include leadership development opportunities for LGBT and ally students, awareness trainings, and special events. Discounted admission available with a Murray State ID.
The Glema Mahr Center for the Arts presents “Madeline McDowell Breckinridge: Votes for Women!” tomorrow morning at 11. The presenter is Kelly Brengelman. Breckinridge was both a state and national leader in the woman’s suffrage movement, and was instrumental getting Kentucky to ratify the 19th amendment. The performance is free and open to the public.
