Council Votes on AT&T Lawsuit

By Angela Hatton

Hopkinsville, KY – The Hopkinsville City Council meets tonight to vote on whether or not to go forward with a lawsuit against AT&T. The city has maintained the company must set up a local cable franchise in order to sell cable service to customers. AT&T officials have said their telephone franchise is sufficient. A company spokesperson tells the Kentucky New Era if the city votes tonight to go ahead with the lawsuit, they may cancel plans to bring the TV service to Hopkinsville. Both Milwaukee and Connecticut have filed similar lawsuit against AT&T.
