Convention Center Needs Money

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – The Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation is asking both city and county officials to pick up its tab for the next half year. That amount is expected to reach $75,000 for bills and anticipated capital expenses, including hiring and paying an executive director. Chairman Jim Sigler tells the Paducah Sun the Julian Carroll Convention and Paducah Expo Centers should become self-sufficient early next year if they're marketed properly. The centers have seen little business since the closure of the Executive Inn.
