U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield's father, Edward O. Whitfield, has died. He passed away yesterday at the age of 89. According to the Congressman’s office, Whitfield’s father was employed by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and its successor companies, the Seaboard System Railroad and CSX Corporation, for 44 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary Cunningham, and a sister. Funeral services are planned for Friday in Hopkinsville.
