ConAgra Sells Princeton Plant to TreeHouse Foods

ConAgra Foods via Facebook

Princeton’s ConAgra plant will soon have a new owner. The company announced this week it is selling its private label operations to TreeHouse Foods for $2.7 billion.

Lake Barkley Partnership for Economic Development Executive Director Randy Major said he has not heard back from ConAgra or TreeHouse about their plans for the plant, but he is optimistic the change-over will go almost unnoticed.

“This plant is loaded with 500 to 600 employees that are completely familiar with the processes that are used in that product manufacturing," Major said. "So, I would think that a company would certainly want to maintain that kind of a workforce. And so the Princeton plant, I would think, would be very attractive to them."

Major said he cannot confirm the change-over date but has heard it will happen January 1st.
