Commissioners Opt Out of Pay Increase

By Chad Lampe

Murray, KY – Paducah City Commissioners voted last night to suspend a nearly 3 percent state recommended cost of living adjustment. Mayor Bill Paxton and the four commissioners typically receive the annual increase. The city's 205 non-uniformed employees have not received a raise so far this year, but may see a 1.5% increase in July. The Mayor's yearly salary will remain at $22,488 and each Commissioner's salary will remain at $20,202.
