Murray State football coach Chris Hatcher is leaving the Racers to coach at Samford University. The website footballscoop.com first reported that Hatcher will likely be introduced as Samford's coach Thursday.
Hatcher has gone 27-30 at Murray since being hired in 2010.
Hatcher, 41, would replace Pat Sullivan who resigned last week after eight seasons. The Racers were 3-9, 1-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference this season, tied for last place with Austin Peay.
