Clarksville, TN – Clarksville City Councilors yesterday unanimously passed an ordinance allowing pets in public parks. The ordinance was a vast contrast to one introduced earlier this year that would have regulated and banned the four-legged friends. Under the new wording, the city's Parks and Recreation will be required to come before the council if it seeks to prohibit dogs from being walked in certain parks. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports the ordinance also puts several prohibitions already in effect officially on the books. Dogs aren't welcome at festivals, concerts, and holiday events unless specifically allowed.
