Capital Projects at MCC, Paducah, Unlikely

By Angela Hatton

Madisonville, KY – Murray State University President Doctor Randy Dunn doesn't expect funding for capital projects at Madisonville Community College, or at a proposed Paducah extension campus to be in Kentucky's budget. MCC has requested $19.5 million for a postsecondary education center. MSU's campus at Madisonville is the only one of Murray's four extension campuses to not have its own building. Kentucky Community and Technical College System officials declined to speculate on whether the project will receive funding. The building would house both Murray State and MCC classes. Dunn says funding to begin site and design work at an extension campus in Paducah is also unlikely. Murray State has purchased the land for the site.
