Body Of Missing Radio Host Ray Taliaferro Found In Paducah

Tuesday Update:

According to a release from the Paducah Police, preliminary autopsy results have found that foul play is not indicated in Ray Taliaferro's death. While the report is not final, exposure to the elements may have been a factor in his death. The investigation is continuing.

Monday:  

The body of a longtime San Francisco Bay Area radio talk show host who went missing in Paducah was found over the weekend. 

According to his family’s GoFundMe page, 79-year-old Ray Taliaferro’s body was found in a wooded area about a mile from where he was last seen on November 10.

He was last seen talking with the manager at Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Paducah and may have been experiencing disorientation and signs of dementia.

Paducah Police confirmed in a release Monday morning, the missing body found Sunday afternoon was Taliaferro. Two teenagers found the body in a wooded area off of South 25th Street and Brooks Stadium Drive. 

An autopsy is pending and an investigation is continuing.

Taliaferro is credited as the first black talk-show host at a major market radio station and was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
