Central City, KY – Workers in Muhlenberg County have broken ground on a coal to liquid fuel plant that will create about 200 jobs. Energy company Fuel Frontiers will start construction of the 400-million-dollar plant next spring with completion scheduled for 2011. State representative Brent Yonts of Greenville notes the plant will turn coal into clean-burning diesel fuel. The plant will be located near Nelson Creek with access to rail, water, and highway. About 300 construction jobs will be created and 200 full-time positions. The plant is expected to boost Muhlenberg County's economy where the unemployment rate is above 12-percent.
